Developed by Silicon Image, Transition-minimized Differential Signaling
(TMDS) is a core technology that underlies many advanced digital interfaces
including the HDMI® and MHL® standards. TMDS establishes a
protocol for transmitting high-speed serial data over twisted-pair copper wire.
It incorporates an advanced coding algorithm that minimizes electromagnetic
interference and enables the fast, accurate transmission of digital data over
long distances.
Key Features
- Transmits extremely large quantities of uncompressed data at very high speeds
- Advanced transmission algorithm minimizes errors and interference
- Dedicated clock channel allows for high performance over long cable
